Grantham, UK – 25/02/2025 — Oort Energy celebrated a significant milestone yesterday with the official activation of its 1MW solar-powered electrolyser at the Hydrogen Generation Event in Grantham. Developed in collaboration with Chariot Limited and the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P), the launch marks a major advancement in green hydrogen production.
The event welcomed investors and industry leaders for a day of insight and engagement, including a site tour showcasing the inaugural production of green hydrogen from the newly launched 1MW system, named Earthrise. This advanced system complements Oort’s existing 250kW electrolyser, which has been operating successfully on solar energy for over a year.
Oort Energy CEO Nick Van Dijk and Chariot Green Hydrogen CEO Laurent Coche addressed the attendees, sharing perspectives on the future of hydrogen and Oort’s ambitious growth trajectory.
“This is a pivotal moment for Oort and the hydrogen sector,” said Van Dijk. “Activating the Earthrise system is a testament to the strength of our partnerships and the relentless drive of our team as we scale towards even greater innovation.”
The successful event not only highlighted Oort's technological progress but also reinforced its commitment to a sustainable energy future.
